In August of 1930 Robert E. Howard (creator of the Conan the Barbarian character) wrote a letter to Weird Tales discussing the recent reprint of of H.P. Lovecraft’s work of fiction “The Rats in the Wall.” As a result Howard become a part of what was known as “The Lovecraft Circle” where various writers kept in constant contact with one another and H.P. Lovecraft himself, sharing stories and ideas, and helping one another get printed in the many pulp magazine of the time. Howard kept in close contact with Lovecraft in this manner until his death in 1936.
