Joe Haldeman when asked “What do you do when you experience writer’s block?” said “[w]hen I get writer’s block I try to get around it by writing _about_ the story, rather than writing the story. Sometimes it works. Sometimes you just have to go write something else for a while.” More Q&A from Joe Haldeman can be found here. I wanted to share this because I find his way of dealing with writers block very interesting. I for one have trouble writing on a regular basis and coming up with whole ideas, by doing things Joe’s way I could very easily kill two birds with one stone – improve my writing skills and get all the details of the world I am trying to build layout out in fine detail. It is also interesting to note that besides writing Joe is also a Professor at MIT.
