domeThis being the week that Stephen King’s Under the Dome is released and given the fact that I am a huge Stephen King fan, I thought you might be interested in some tid-bits about the book.

Work on Under the Dome first began in the late seventies under the title The Cannibals and was later re-wroked and called Under the Dome. King stated on his website that these stores “were two very different attempts to utilize the same idea, which concerns itself with how people behave when they are cut off from the society they’ve always belonged to.” The novel, however, would not see the light of day for close to thirty years when Stephen King attempted, for a third time, to tackle the project. In January of 2008, King announced that he’ll “be killing a lot of trees” with the prublication of his next book, which would turn out to be Under the Dome. My copy from beginning to end totals 1,067 pages.

For those who are interested in reading some of the original material that made up Under the Dome look here.
