Yes, I watched Land of the Lost last night. Before I begin I should mention that I didn’t have very high expectations for this movie as I am not a big Will Ferrell fan, but after all was said and done, all I have to say is: well done, Will, well done.

The story begins with Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) being interview on the Today Show with Matt Lauer which ends with Lauer making fun of Marshall‘s profession as a “quantum paleontologist” which sparks a fight. Later we learn that after the interview, Will Ferrell‘s character is dubbed as a hack and shunned by the scientific community. That is until Rick Marshall does build his Tachyon do-da-do-hickey machine that actually opens up a portal to another dimension where all other when’s co-exist within the same time frame – dinosuars roam the land with apes, and viking ships are marooned in a desert with a bi-plane crashed on deck.

Unfortently for Marshall and the beautiful scientist and gun-ho hick that travel along with him on his journey, this machine is lost and if they are to find their home they must locate it. But they aren’t the only ones looking for it. Something far more sinister wants the machine for it’s own nefarious purpose – TO RULE THE UNIVERSE! There is also the T-Rex who desperatly seeks out Rick Marshall to help him with his intestinal blockage.

The movie wasn’t the blockbuster hit that I’m sure Will Ferrell was hoping for, but it is well worth the money.
