I hear a lot of people talk about The Golden Age of science fiction as if todays writers are some how lacking in something truly great that can only be found in the writings of the 50’s and 60’s. While I can certainly agree that Heinlein, Asimoz, and Clarke are writers that come along only once in a life-time, that doesn’t mean that there are not authors around today that can’t live up to these greats. You have to look no further then John Scalzi, Jack McDevitt, and David Weber to see this, amongst many others. So when I found By Heresies Distressed for sale this past weekend at my local book store, I got it. I wish I could say that it’s on the soon-to-be-read list, but the fact is there is a back log of books I am looking forward to reading first. But someday…
