I love history and history books, maybe even more than I love science fiction. And being born and raised in Colorado, there is more than enough history to go around. There are outlaws, mining tragedies, the mountains, gunfight’s, not to mention cowboys and Indians. Even with such a rich history, good history books are hard to come by. More often than not they lack detail, give you only half the story, or leave certain details out all together. It is the ones that get as descriptive as they can; the ones that leave no stone unturned when it comes to the history and who and what was involved; these are the books that I want. And although I have yet to read Kenneth Jessen‘s Colorado Gunsmoke, it would appear, it fits that bill
