Anybody that knows anything about the history of Rome knows that it was a city and culture built on blood shed and violent death. When anyone talks about the history of Rome and the Roman Empire they immediately think of the Gladiators and the Roman army, but the history of Rome and the blood that it was written in goes deeper then that and involves military and slave uprising and brutal conquests of foreign lands, followed by integration of said conquered people and a type of nationality that can come only after diplomacy. But to even get this far, there must first be a fear and fight for survival that comes only from the tip of a sword.
